Solid Electrolytes for Lithium-ion Batteries

Phosphate solid electrolytes (PSEs) are a class of materials being investigated for use in lithium-ion batteries due to their potential advantages over liquid electrolytes. PSEs are a key component in the development of all-solid-state batteries, which could offer even higher energy density, safety, and cycle life compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries with liquid electrolytes. Two prominent examples are LATP (Lithium Lanthanum Titanium Phosphate) and LAGP (Lithium Lanthanum Germanium Phosphate), which offer the following benefits:

  • High Ionic Conductivity: Both LATP and LAGP exhibit relatively high ionic conductivity for lithium ions, which is essential for efficient battery operation.
  • Stability: These materials are known for their structural stability and resistance to degradation, which contributes to longer battery life.
  • Compatibility: LATP and LAGP have shown compatibility with various cathode and anode materials, making them versatile for different battery chemistries.

All of our phosphate solid electrolyte materials are offered in powder form and available in ready-to-ship quantities of 10 grams, 25 grams, 50 grams, 100 grams, 250 grams, 500 grams, and 1 kilogram. Larger bulk quantities are also available (upon request).
