Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LiMnxFe(1-x)PO4) is a new, higher nominal voltage variation of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) with rising popularity. Similar in olivine structure to LFP, the iron and the manganese phosphate components each produce a flat voltage plateau of ~3.4V and ~4.0V, respectively, which lifts its nominal voltage to 3.8V vs. Li compared to just ~3.4V for LFP. LMFP has a reduced specific capacity (~150 mAh/g) compared to LFP (~170 mAh/g), but is balanced by the higher voltage of LMFP to produce similar energy density. However, since the material’s voltage window is similar to NMC-based and cobalt oxide cathodes, LMFP is a more suitable direct replacement of those cells as a low cost, cobalt or nickel-free alterative.
NANOMYTE® BE-80E is a cast electrode tape of LMFP powder. Standard electrode sheets are 5 inches x 10 inches (127 mm x 254 mm) and cast either single-sided or double-sided on 16 µm thick aluminum foil current collectors. NEI also offers custom tailored solutions for customers with unique specification requirements. Our tapes can also be customized to accommodate different active material loadings, coating thickness, binder type (aqueous/non-aqueous), and binder content, as well as choice of current collector.
Please note, this product should not be used in any commercial battery.
NEI’s standard* electrode sheets are available in ready-to-ship packages of 2, 5, and 10 sheets (per material). Request a quote today!
*Standard electrode sheets are cast on 5 inch x 10 inch sheets of aluminum (cathode) or copper foil (anode), single-side coated with a 90% active material loading. Modifications in tape specifications (such as loading, thickness, binder, & collector) can be made for an additional fee.
