Cathode, Anode, & Solid Electrolyte Materials
NEI develops and manufactures cathode, anode, and solid electrolyte materials for lithium-ion batteries, as well as Na-ion compounds & other compositions not commonly found. Our materials are produced through a scalable and economical solid state synthesis process, which is adaptable to different material compositions and particle morphologies. Both lithium-ion battery developers and manufacturers work with us to obtain battery materials that are ideally suited for their application. NEI also specializes in custom synthesis of lithium-ion cathode, anode, and solid electrolyte powders to impart safety, high capacity, long cycle life, high rate and good low temperature performance. Smart & Functional Coatings
NEI’s line of Advanced Protective Coatings provide tailored functionalities not found in traditional paints, coatings, or surface treatments – such as hydrophobicity, superhydrophobicity, oleophobicity, anti-soiling, self-healing, fog resistance, self-cleaning (or easy-to-clean), scratch resistance, anti-corrosion, anti-icing, and more. NANOMYTE® coatings are versatile and can be applied to a variety of materials and surfaces, using standard coating processes. Our protective coatings are designed to be highly durable to help preserve coating functions and extend the service life of your parts. Learn More »
Electrospun Mats
NEI can produce multi-scale, multifunctional, nanoscale, and micron-sized fibers that provide an advantage over conventional fiber production technology. NEI offers electrospun mats of PAN, PVA, and PVDF-HFP fibers. Each mat is a free standing flexible sheet with microstructural features not available from a bulk material. Standard electrospun mats are either 4″ x 4″ (10 cm x 10 cm) or 8″ x 11″ (20.3 cm x 28 cm) with a typical thickness of 1 mil (25 microns). However, the dimensions and thickness can easily be adjusted as per the customer’s specifications. Learn More »
New Materials for Energy Applications
NEI is committed to supporting our customers’ R&D and prototyping programs in developing and supplying new, custom-synthesized inorganic and organic-inorganic hybrid materials for Energy-related applications, namely Energy Storage, Energy Conversion, and Energy Harvesting. This focused initiative also involves a new emerging class of Energy applications that utilize these materials, such as carbon capture, water recovery from ambient air, and recovery of high value, difficult-to-obtain elements. By pursuing new Advanced Materials, we can help improve performance and drive down costs of existing materials and mature technologies in these fields. Learn More »
