NEI Introduces Sodium Ferric Pyrophosphate (“NFPP”) electrode sheets

April 10, 2025

NEI is pleased to now offer Sodium Ferric Pyrophosphate (Na4Fe3(PO4)2P2O7) electrode sheets. NFPP has emerged as an attractive cathode material for sodium-ion batteries. The advantages of NFPP mirror that of LiFePO₄ (LFP) in lithium-ion batteries, such as excellent cycling stability and relatively low cost for high volume applications. Similar to LFP, NFPP has a NASICON-type structure with a structurally stable 3D framework. In addition to demonstrating a reversible capacity of about 100 mAh/g, NFPP has an operating voltage of 3.1V (Na+/Na). The intrinsic electronic conductivity of NFPP is low, as it is in most other phosphate-based materials.

NANOMYTE® NAB-65E

NEI’s NAB-65E electrodes are fabricated using ultrafine NFPP particles with carbon in such a fashion that the inherent drawbacks of NFPP are overcome. In addition to being able to customize the loading and electrode formulation for NAB-65E, NEI can also customize the composition of NFPP through substitution of the cations.
