NANOMYTE® Additives

NEI offers a variety of coating additives to enhance and improve properties of thermoset, thermoplastic, and silicone coatings.

NANOMYTE® PC-10 (for Thermoset Coatings)

Specially formulated for aqueous fluoropolymer coatings, NANOMYTE® PC-10 is easily incorporated into commercial coating formulations for thermoset coatings (e.g., polyurethane, nitrocellulose and epoxy) to improve abrasion resistance and scratch resistance. Even just small additions of PC-10 leads to a dramatic improvement in desirable mechanical properties (up to 50%) without affecting the intrinsic properties of the thermoset polymer, such as gloss and transparency.

NANOMYTE® PC-10 is supplied in dispersion form and is ideal for demanding applications and severe environments. Thermoset coatings containing PC-10 nanomaterials can be used in a number of different coating applications, including automobiles, aircraft, cosmetics, floors, septic tanks, structural steels, and buildings.

NANOMYTE® PC-20 (for Thermoplastic Coatings)

NANOMYTE® PC-20 nanomaterials are specially formulated for aqueous fluoropolymer coatings, and is easily incorporated into commercial coating formulations for thermoplastic resins – such as PVC, PTFE, and others – to improve the abrasion resistance and tear strength of coatings. Up to a 50% enhancement in certain mechanical properties can be expected due to the addition of relatively small amounts of NANOMYTE® PC-20. Thermoplastic coatings containing PC-20 can be used in a wide range of applications – including specialty fabrics, medical devices, and a wide range of metal coatings. NANOMYTE® PC-20 is supplied in dispersion form and is ideal for demanding applications and severe environments.

NANOMYTE® PC-30 (for Silicone-based Coatings)

NANOMYTE® PC-30 is specially formulated for silicone-based coatings for thermal and barrier applications,  and is easily incorporated into commercial coating formulations. Tear resistance of coated fabrics is greatly improved with only a small additive loading, and provides a far greater tolerance for manufacturing defects in barrier applications. The adhesion of silicone to substrate can also be dramatically improved.

PC-30 nanomaterials can be added to commercially available silicone coating and adhesive formulations to improve mechanical properties. Coated fabrics may show more than a 20% increase in tear strength and up to a 200% enhancement in peel adhesion is possible with the addition of relatively small amounts of PC-30.
