“Extended Metal Protection under Extremely Corrosive Conditions”

NANOMYTE® TC-3001 is a variable film build, heavy weight coating technology designed for corrosion protection of metals, such as steel and aluminum, in extremely harsh environments. Where conventional coatings chip or crack when exposed to stress from vibration, expansion, or flexing, NANOMYTE TC-3001 will move, bend and conform to the substrate.

NANOMYTE TC-3001 is unique in that traditional solvents and binders are replaced by a 97% solids carrier. The material is heated until liquefied then applied by hot airless spray. The result is a smooth, uniformly thick coating. Cracks and crevices in pre-existing paint and even spalled concrete can be filled as the metal surface is covered. TC-3001 is able to protect the metal substrate by adapting to changing environmental conditions. The coating maintains its resiliency and structural integrity over time, better than conventional anticorrosion paints and coatings.

Applying NANOMYTE TC-3001 is straightforward, but the product delivers unparalleled advantages in highly corrosive environments. The coating sets immediately after making contact with the substrate, which eliminates dripping or sagging. TC-3001 coatings usually only require one application (350 to 2,000 µm thick), but multiple layers can be applied if needed.

  • No grit blasting required; time and money saving surface preparation
  • Low VOC content (2.9%), environmentally friendly
  • Encapsulation of existing corrosion with single coat application
  • 97% solids; no solvent, therefore a different functionality than paint coatings
  • Infinite shelf life and long life in field; no need to reapply for 10 – 15 years and in some cases more than 20 years

The coating has a two-phase cure:

  • Phase 1: Penetrants cross the adhesion interface and enter the structure of the metal, passivating any corroded metal and ensuring no further damage occurs.
  • Phase 2: A firm, dry encapsulating barrier coating is set, which is resistant to vibration and cracking.

There is no requirement to grit or sand blast when using NANOMYTE TC-3001. Manual preparation to ST2 or water-jetting to WJ4 are sufficient.

Conventional coatings begin to crack or peel in as little as 3 years, needing to be stripped, grit blasted and reapplied. NANOMYTE TC-3001 can last 10 to 15 years, with little to no maintenance. The product has performed extremely well in numerous applications for over 40 years.
