CTC Pretreatments: Corrosion Technologies’ pretreatment coatings are applied directly to the metal surface, in much the same way as chromate conversion coatings. The pretreatment generally forms a thin coating with a thickness of 0.5 – 2 microns. It provides excellent adhesion to the primer and acts primarily as a barrier coating, in addition to inhibiting corrosion through its damage responsive behavior.

An additional advantage of our pretreatment is the elimination of elaborate surface preparation prior to coating. This process improvement can result in significant savings to the user.

Presently, we offer two pretreatments:

• NanomyteTM PT-10, for aluminum alloys
• NanomyteTM PT-15, for magnesium alloys
