Latest Test Results Confirm Performance of NEI’s Newly Optimized Anti-Ice Coating

Today, NEI announced that it has enhanced the performance of its anti-ice coating – NANOMYTE® SuperAi – and confirmed its efficacy through rigorous testing under a variety of icing conditions. SuperAi is a nanocomposite coating that imparts anti-ice properties to a variety of substrates and reduces ice adhesion by more than 80%. Full Press Release »

NEI introduces durable, anti-fog coating – NANOMYTE® SAF-100

Today, NEI introduced NANOMYTE® SAF-100, an optical grade, anti-fog coating with excellent abrasion and water resistance. The coating passes EN 168 for Mist Retardant Anti-fog Coatings and also exhibits anti-frost properties. SAF-100 also provides a high degree of mechanical stability, with a pencil hardness of HB. As a result, the anti-fog properties are retained after repeated washing with soap and water. Full Press Release »

NASA Tech Briefs features Solid Electrolyte Work with NEI Corporation

“High-energy-density and safe rechargeable batteries are required for NASA’s future exploration missions. Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are attractive energy storage systems due to their relatively high energy and power densities. However, the unfavorable side reactions between the electrodes and the liquid electrolyte adversely impact performance. NEI Extends Its Advanced Materials Capabilities to Develop Fuel Cell Membranes

NEI announced today that it has started developing polymer electrolyte membranes (PEMs) for fuel cells that avoid the use of perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) ionomers. The DOE SBIR Phase I development effort is focused on producing a highly proton conducting heteropolyacid (HPA) based membrane. The goal is to develop a robust PEM that has high proton conductivity, low hydrogen and oxygen cross-over, and is highly durable for extended use in a fuel cell. Full Press Release »

NEI Releases Newly Improved Version of its Hydrophobic / Oleophobic Coating

Spurred by requests from customers looking for a relatively thin coating that is highly hydrophobic and oleophobic, but also hard and transparent, NEI Corporation revealed an improved version of NANOMYTE® SuperCN today. The updated formulation has increased SuperCN’s ability to repel water and oils, with an improved adhesion to substrates, higher abrasion resistance, and better chemical and solvent resistance, all while remaining highly transparent. Full Press Release »
