NANOMYTE® SSE-10D Technical Data Sheet

Product Description

NANOMYTE® SSE-10D is a 2-part, ready-to-disperse Lithium Tin Phosphorous Sulfide (Li10SnP2S12 or SSE-10) solid electrolyte powder with compatible solvent. When mixed and dispersed, the material is ready to cast into flexible tapes, providing more options for cell designers to combine with suitable cathode and anode active materials.  NEI’s patent-pending, solid electrolyte material is designed to eliminate flammability issues associated with currently used liquid electrolytes, while providing high Li-ion conductivity.

Typical ionic conductivity (powder): 10-4 – 10-3 S/cm @ 25 °C

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. In a glovebox under inert gas, combine Part A (LSPS powder) with Part B (solvent).
  2. Using a stirrer, allow the powder and solvent to mix until uniformly dispersed.
  3. Make sure to use the full amount of Part A and Part B to achieve the full solids loading.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The current collector surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Before casting the dispersion, remove all oil, grease, dust, dirt and other foreign material by using a solvent such as acetone, and wipe the surface.

ELECTRODE TAPE FABRICATION

Electrode tapes using the LSPS dispersion can be cast on a current collector in an inert atmosphere. The preferred tool for tape casting is doctor blade. An exact drying time for the tape will depend on the environmental condition. Typically, the tape will dry in 30 minutes at room temperature (25 °C).

CLEAN UP

Clean tools immediately after tape fabrication is completed, with acetone, under adequate ventilation. Avoid allowing soiled tools to come into any contact with water or water-based liquids.

STORAGE & HANDLING

Conditions for Safe Storage
PART A: Handle in a controlled environment, under inert gas. Never allow product to come in contact with moisture or water. Appropriate personal protective equipment should be used at all times. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Provide good ventilation or extraction, and avoid breathing vapors.

Precautions for Safe Handling
PART A: Keep container tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry, well-ventilated place. Store under inert gas. Protect from moisture. Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage.
PART B: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Heat sensitive. Store under inert gas. Storage class (TRGS 510): Non-combustible, acute toxic Cat.3 / toxic hazardous materials or hazardous materials causing chronic effects.
