NEI Corporation (www.neicorporation.com) is the new name for Nanopowder Enterprises Inc., as of July 1, 2003. The name change has come about due to a shift in focus away from nanopowders, and toward value added nanomaterials and nanoadditives targeted at specific applications. This strategic change has been in the making for over two years. Presently, at NEI, a number of products are at different stages of development, each being developed in partnership with large companies, and in most cases with end-users as well. The stage has been set to transition into a manufacturing operation, with close support by a competent R&D staff. Mr. Richard Harral, a thirty year veteran of manufacturing in the chemical industry, has been brought in as Director of Manufacturing to establish production capability and manufacturing protocol. NEI expects to be ISO certified in the foreseeable future. Mr. Richard Ziminski, an experienced business leader, was appointed as President last year to help steer NEI’s commercial growth. NEI is presently implementing its strategic business plan, which includes venture investment. This builds upon NEI’s impressive backlog of booked R&D contracts worth over $ 4 million in strategically targeted areas. Dr. Gary S. Tompa, co-founder of NEI, is now the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Amit Singhal is the Chief Scientist, and Dr. Ganesh Skandan, also a co-founder of NEI, is the Chief Executive Officer.
